Jerry, I was looking through a book of weapons at the library the other day and I noticed a sword called a Flyssa, which was the traditional weapon of the Kabyles of Morocco. It was a drawing, but it looked a lot like your larger pieces. Spine is basically flat and the point is wicked thin and sharp without a lot of belly. The handle looked a lot like what you do, too. Is this a coincidence or have you seen such knives and you use similar design principles?

Thanks for posting, Barry. That is a good pic, and it looks sorta like one of the Millenium Bowies on steroids. Imagine that: a knife on steroids on steroids! sheesh! Maybe Jerry should've tried out for the Olympics!

Anyhoo, there is an obvious similarity between the Flyssa and some of Jerry's work. Just curious if it's intentional or coincidence. Obviously the Flyssa isn't hollow ground, so I'd have to assume this one Barry shows would weigh considerably more than a knife the similar size made by Jerry. It has some belly toward the front, too, so maybe the flyssa is intended to be a chopper in combat? Thoughts anyone?
