Here is your chance to design your perfect EDC Knife!

Here are the spec restrictions:
No more than 7" overall
No taller than 1 1/4" at the highest point (design must be able to be made from 1 1/4" stock)
1/8" thick O1 steel
Standard handle materials

Here is the catch. I`m going to charge $10 for each entry (you can enter more than once, but it`s $10 for each entry). The designs would be voted on by your peers here on BF. If you don`t win, and still want your design made, the price would be reduced by $10.

If you decide to enter my PayPal is jkiedaisch@sbcglobal.net
Do not put "chance" in your comments, and do not send money as "Gift"! Please put your BF forum name in comments!

I will let the contest run for about one month.

3 3/8" blade, 3 5/8" handle, 1" high.
A small sharpening choil-1/8. (smaller than PB will let me add:rolleyes:)
1/4 brass pins and brass lanyard tube.
1/4" thick micarta slabs with rounded edges for compactness.

Can old designs be entered? Like the one off you made me (bottom pic) or the old Pocket Scandi?

Ok. Sounds good. I'm a big fan of both. The sheath on the Scandi is great and the other knife is attached to a belt pouch you made years ago.

I will be getting in on this. I will try to get some sketches done and finalize my decisions this weekend, likely Saturday.

grey terotuf scales / sabre grind with false edge or full height flat grind / stainless tubes
hope pic link works

Some inspiration taken from the galley wag. (Thanks!)

Low heel for help in chopping in kitchen (we all know we like to use JKs in the kitchen!) and keeping your knuckles off the ground or stump when cutting in camp.

Lots of belly for slicing and a tip higher than midpoint on the scales to aid in skinning, cleaning and breaking down game (I love having a high tip for working joints, but want more meat behind it than the galley wag offers).

Straight back will also work for impromptu wood processing and ferro rod usage, (I use the spine for shaving/scraping a chunk of fatwood and making some cedar/pine dust and very fine cedar/pine scrapings).

A Very ergonomic and easy to index handle shape. Can easily adjust blade down to 2 3/4" and keep about 3/4" of flat edge (while retaining full size belly) for utility work if a customer wants to lengthen the handle.

Will work will with a Saber grind or flat grind depending on projected usage and customer preferences.
