Designs Lacking?

In everyones minds, which knife designs do you see really lacking from the production companies.

In my mind, I see a real lack of fixed blades that have a blade of 3" or so and a full sized handle. Just me though. And I dont mean there are not any, there is the RC3, Entrek USA Badger, ect...

Do you guys see any designs that are overlooked?

Benchmade Nim Cub, Cold steel has some offerings in the 3 inch range, I think the Pendleton series. Mora has some 3 inch designs. So does Bark River.

@2" blade with a full-size handle, similar to the Spyderco Dodo/Emerson Snubby concepts.

Seems the average user is too focused on the fallacy of blade/handle ratio and these designs are usually condemned with the label "glorified boxcutters" before they're even held or used.

If you're limited to a <3" or <2.5" or a given length, a full-size handle is going to be more useful and capable than a handle that is 1:1 with the blade length.

I know that there are desings of that size out there, I said so in the post, but it still seems an overlooked area.

I agree entirely, I like full handles on all fixed blades.

I actually don't see it as an overlooked area. Numerous manufactuers have designs out, its just not a competitive area.

+1 No matter how small the blade, the handel should fit the hand.

Value priced one hand opening slipjoint under 3" blade length made with modern materials. Spyderco has a couple of models (UKPK & Bob T), but theirs are on the pricy side. Boker is about to release one (CLB XS) priced moderately, but we need more.
