If you were designing a plain edge folding knife for EDC:
1. At what angle would you make the final edge bevel?
2. What steel would you use?
3. What kind of blade grind would you use? (Flat grind, saber grind, hollow grind, etc.)

Here are some more optional questions:
1. What grit finish would you use?
2. What blade shape would you use?
3. At what angle would you make the main bevels.
4. What thickness would you make the blade?

I think it will be interesting to see what you people think.

For myself while I haven't had much technical experience I think something like a full flat ground, drop point, in M2 or BG42 at 20 degrees included would be quite a knife.

10 degree angle, max (always easy enough to add a microbevel)

I've had really good experience with VG10, but probably BG42 (which I've never used, I'll admit) or ZDP189

Full shallow hollow grind

Somewhere between full mirror and scotchbright

Probably wharncliffe, possibly just a very dropped point (well beyond spearpoint, but some belly)

Kinda moot, since it's a full hollow grind, but I'd think I'd have the final edge bevel just ground from spine to edge, a la Cliff's uber paring knife.

Thin... I use my knife lightly, so I don't care much about durability, and certainly not a sharpened prybar!
