Another knife on a stand.

This knife has a Damasteel blade and bronze handle, they are separated by a thin piece of fileworked mammoth ivory.
Thanks to a deep hollow grind the blade gets a very fine and sharp point.

This little "three-finger" knife is just under 6" (145mm) overall with a blade just over 2" (55mm).

The stand has a Desert Ironwood base with details made using the same Damasteel and bronze. It has thin leather feet and another little leather "patch" to protect the wood from the point of the blade.

So a quick question; Should I make a little sheath for it as well, any input regarding this is most welcome.
Or perhaps I might let a potential customer decide on this.

Any and all comments are more than welcome.

Kind Regards
/Magnus

My vote is let the customer decide. I think you have presented it beautifully as it is. Very fine and interesting work.

I think it's just right the way it is, buddy:thumbup:
I have so much admiration for you, and your work. Unconventional on both fronts, and in the best ways :)

If you did make a sheath for it, it would have to be a work of art all on it's own to stand up to such a lovely knife. A challenge in it's own right. I say go for it.:)

Your work never ceases to amaze me, awesome piece!
Make a sheath for it, every fixed blade needs a pair of pants. :)

A wonderful work of art. If doing a sheath, it will need to be as exotic as the presented work is itself. It will be interesting to see what you do with a sheath if you decide to do it before offering the product to purchasers.

I'm with these guys. Ask the client and see if they would like.

Speaking from experience, the stand and the scalpel never part more than a meter. Leave it.

Guys, I'm typing with this gem two feet away from me, ready to open mail, and to solve dull pencils with a short break.

This new one is a testament to quality, function, and art. It's a great niche!

Good thread.

Great job, as always my friend. :)

Nothing like you Desk Accouterments....

Mine is displayed in a prominent location, I assure you. ;)

wow, stunning!

It would be a shame to hide that in a sheath and risk it out in the world when it's clearly so perfect to be seen and used on a desk every day.

Thank you all for your kind Words and great input!
I have decided to leave it as it is for now.

Thank you very much yet again for your very appreciated words my friend! It is very nice indeed to hear from a happy owner of my work! :-)

A beautiful piece, Magnus. Always enjoy your desk knives and have been quite taken by Coop's Desk Scalpel from the first time I saw it.

I love this knife and stand. If I had something like this it would put my cheap Ikea desk to shame!

I think the thickness of the spine is very cool.

I really can't add anything except I agree with Coop on this. It's a Desk Piece, Whoever ends up with this beauty isn't going to want to pack it around town. It's functional Art! And will be admired as such on a man or ladies desk, not to leave the room.

Those two knives are off the wall. Amazing and out of the box work.
Thank you for your kind words! :)

Let me add that the buyer for this will be an affluent man or women and you have a large amount of artistic appeal here.

So when you think you have figured out your price, Add another %50 to that price to get your selling price. The person that will buy this won't Blink at the price.
