Does anyone edc a Desperado? I always believed that bigger is better. And since I live in a state with very lax knife laws this is something I have been comptiplating. If you do how and where do you carry? I also have the vaquero grande. Definitely an intimidation factor for anyone who wants to do harm.

I used to carry a Desperado, but I never felt that it was secure enough in my hand, and with no real handle, there wasn't much reach. I do carry a Vaquero Grande, it's my favorite knife.

Same here, traded for a Steel Tiger(actually like the ring portion). Been thinking of a Vaquero Grande to replace my Voyager XL since I learned the blade is 1/2" longer, it would niche perfectly with the 6" Tilite Aluminum and Hold Out I.

I think that the design was ahead of its time. Actually I thought that it made a better boot knife, as the grip was not flat enough to carry against the chest, but it made for a good fit in the palm. But my favorite boot knife was the Culloden, and my two favorite neck knives are the Double Agent 1 and the Secret Edge (my Culloden replacement since I lost it out of the sheath one night). I find the Edge to be more comfortable, but the Agent is very secure in hand, however it is a little slower to draw from the sheath.

My Vaquero Grande has the kydex sheath for inside the belt carry, and in my opinion, it can't be beat. I have a newer Vaquero XL Voyager which is an inch shorter in blade length. A good knife, but the clip is way to stiff. Short of carrying a Bowie, the Vaquero Grande with the sheath is the ultimate.
