Hello,
I recently was lucky enough to watch the movie Dragon Blade with Jackie Chan. Chan's character is the captain of a security force on the famous silk road trading route in Asia. The captain and his men carry the most beautiful single edge swords I have ever scene.
For anyone who has seen the movie they know what the sword looks like. The blade is a magnificent mix of a two-handed sword and single edge blade. The sword can be used as a one or two-handed sword, yet the blade length is not as long as a traditional or classic long sword such as those used in medieval times by nights. I remember seeing Conan the Barbarian with Arnold and falling in love with Subotai's single edged two-handed short sword. This sword reminds me of that sword, but Chan's sword has much more detail and a slightly longer blade, overall a much more detailed, crafted and higher quality sword from the looks of it.
For me, the sword is absolutely beautiful and my idea of a great battle sword. I fell in love with the sword at first site. The blade just sparkles and for me is the perfect length and has a nicely detailed handled.
Does anybody know what type of Chinese sword it is? The movie Dragon Blade takes place in the Han Dynasty. I would love to buy a replica of the sword or something similar. Does anyone have any info surrounding the sword or better yet where this type or style of sword can be purchased, say manufacturer or retailer?
Any help would be most appreciated.
Thank You
