Detachable Fusion handle guards

Just wanted to show off a couple of sets of detachable titanium hand guards that JDieseljoe69 JDieseljoe69 made for me.

Really makes the FB, IMHO. The should fit any Fusion type handle. They also fit a Fusion HUCK Finn, but I sold that.

If you’re interested in a pair, Joe still has the pattern.

Cool! I agree about the hardware. That’s an easy upgrade with tons of options out there. Cool way to customize with various screw finishes and styles.

I can’t say much on the price, because I don’t know if what I paid is relevant given there was an iterative design process involved, but these are designed to be usable on multiple knives.

I also got a free t-shirt thrown in. Modeled here with my daughter on the Mid-Atlantic Coast last weekend.

That's brilliant. A stupid interpretation of the law by Canadian Customs regards D guards as lillegal like brass knuckles. I Iove D guards and that's brilliant.

looks like there was a fair bit of engineering involved there. nice job to you both.

I'll be reaching out once I find my ideal fusion handled blade.

It’s a modified Urgent Fury. I don’t recall if this has a particular name, or is more of a one-off variant. Below is the guard on the standard Urgent Fury without the spacer barrels fitted.

Basically, all the talon holes I tried will fit a 3/16" barrel. The front hole on the guard is 1/4" diameter, and the back hole is slightly elongated at 5/16" x 1/4". That provides enough room to accommodate all the knives I had with fusion handles - FM, 2 x UF, Fusion Huck Finn. My assumption is that it will also fit other fusion handles (not the nano-fusion!), but you can always measure the distance between the talon holes and check in with Joe to be sure. My original idea was to design something where the length of the guard would be adjustable. Then I realized there was no point, as the sizing for all the knives I wanted to fit it to was within a couple of mm.
