Hi all, I was doing research on the use of tomahawks in WWII, and i was wondering if any of you know of any recorded uses of hatchets or tomahawks in the second world war?

thanks in advance!

Hatchets were a commonly used and issued tool, lots of wood handled tools such as axes shovels and picks...etc were issued to clear areas for camps bases and field hospitals.

As far as tomahawks goes, it is not impossible for a guy to have carried a tomahawk into combat, there was a British soldier who used a bow & arrow.

I just watched as much as I could find about Joe Medicine Crow, he was the last Indian to qualify as a War Chief. He did it in WWII, but I couldn’t see any tomahawk anywhere.
