Please note these photos are not in the order I submitted so may be harder to follow the text on the 75th Anniversary $1000 knife.
G'day, Howie just made reference to the $1,000 Clasp 75th Anniversary which I believe lrv has in his collection.
I thought you may be interested in the 1979 Old Timer Knife Almanac Vol2 No1 which has further information on this Unique knife.
Mr. Herman Williams kindly sent me <gratis> this paper several years ago together with a stack of original Schrade Flyers and Catalogues.
Herman was giving me information at the time regarding my 2OT and 3OT,the gold Calendar Cut Co,the 1947 Gentlemans Knife and the Mexico Imperial Knives, 25 Salesmans samples I have.The 2OT and 3OT were originally part of his extensive collection and he was responsible for setting up the Schrade Wall Collection and had knowledge on all my knives....
He is a true gentleman and has kindly freely shared his extensive Schrade knowledge with me in addition to the Schrade artefacts he sent......Hoo Roo

I have posted these somewhere but I never see them often enough.
I have a lot of material on the 75th Bulldog pattern knives (2) the 1000.00 and 100.00 where both great but the 1000 was very special.There are 2 glossies of the 1000 and the flyer for the 100.

Originally scheduled for a production of 250. This is number 250 and number 2. Wish I knew who had number 1.

WOW !!! :thumbup::thumbup:

Now that I've mostly caught my breath ......
You really caught the gold fill in the etching

Mr Menace sir, may we please see some more pictures?
Are the blades and backsprings fileworked?
Would love to see the patterns if you can get good pictures.

Thanks -- Howie

Dick, those are truly outstanding! I will second the "more pics" request if at all possible. The delrin 75th knife is nice enough but I'm holding out for one of these darlings. I'm always on the watch for them but you sure don't see them too often. They seem to be another Schrade people just don't like to part with.

Larry, anyway I can contact you about obtaining a copy of the wonderful newspaper articles that you have posted about the $1,000 Clasp 75th Anniversary Knife? I was fortunate enough to have acquired one recently (my Christmas present to myself this Holiday Season) and would love to obtain some in-depth background research on it. By the way, even though the original retail price was $1,000 in 1979, did it really sell for that much (or maybe even half that much)? It is one of the few knives that Schrade made featuring genuine Sambar Stag instead of the usual Schrade Staglon and sterling silver bolsters and gold inlay and hand fileworked spine, but $1,000 was A LOT of money back in 1979!
