After a year on the site it still appears to me that just about everyone selling here seems to assume that everyone knows all there is to know about what they are trying to sell.
Example: Just about all of the knives listed for sale do not include the size of the knife. Sometimes other details that are important are also not included in the description.
So, I have to look up the knife on some other site to try and find the details or send the seller
a message to ask them. Sometimes popular knives sell quickly so by the time I try to find an answer, the item is sold to someone who already knows.

Because this is a knife forum a typical prospective buyer will either know these details before considering purchase of a knife, or do exactly as you say and look up the knife's details elsewhere. I'm sure most do research before their purchases, it prevents unpleasant surprises in the future. As for a seller they are free to supply as little or as much info as they choose, whatever they feel is necessary to sell their knife; buyers just have to work with what the sellers offer.

Are you referring to custom or production knives?

For a production knife, i dont find that info nearly as necessary as the current condition, any defects or issue, or blade steel if there are various options for that model. You'll more than likely find all the info about the knife in a minute or two with a Google search. If i was in that boat and it got scooped up within that time, id chalk it up to it wasnt meant to be.

For customs or rare items dimension can be a big help as that info can be hard to find or even vary piece by piece.
