Can someone please tell me where and when this knife was made?? The seller (please note, the auction is over) agreed to let me verify this before I pay, because of the misleading title to the auction. Here are some pics, and the link. The seller thinks it's a Schrade proto:confused: !

hi, ive got one of these, bought about 13 or so years ago, identical but without the bail, stamped schrade walden,i think the bail is missing, dont have the sheath if it came with one.Pricewise mine is in new condition and it took 50 dollars at the blade show to get it ,now id have to say its worth the price because of watching ebay and other places for fish knives it comes up rarely for sale,in new condition.just my opinion from watching and collecting fish knives for awhile.thanks:)

I saved this picture off of an old auction. It was called a Schrade Walden Sportsman. Heres another pic with no bail.

I'm pretty sure you have the same knife. I can't find anything as far as when these were made. 1946 to 1973, and since it looks like Staglon, using the SWAG knife dating method, I would say 60's.

I had already verified what was on tang etc with this seller in the days leading up to end of auction so you come in with 8 seconds to go, knock me out of the picture, not having verified anything so as not to show your hand and then what? decide if you will pay or not after having won it?No doubt you will have another shot at me but who do you really think you are treating sellers like this? You returned the 2OT after sniping it. Unbelievable really.

This is a model 209
Looks like it was made with and without a shackle/bale
Appears first in 1972
Appears in both the 73 catalogs (S/W and Schrade) Dont see it again after 73
shipped @ 7000 without a shackle and 6500 with between 72-74

The seller immediately emailed me when the auction ended and offered to negate the sale, because the auction headline was misleading. He got several questions and complaints about it. I had set up the snipe the day the auction was listed, and ignored it until it ended and I got the usual automatic emails.
I talked to him on the phone, and he's quite a nice, and IMO honorable guy!
The knife came from a large collection of a former employee. That said, because the tang stamp is not usual, I have passed. It will likely be listed again, and some may consider it a rare stamping, so worth a lot more than usual. I will try and attach the pics again, here! They didn't "stick" when I started the thread.

That's ebay....there are no ethics when it comes to auctions so you shouldn't expect any.

I get awful tired of your personal attacks, Larry, and your false assumptions! I'm sure everyone is yawning! Go play with the sharks, and entertain us!

What they said!

If you want to be treated like a buddy, you must act like one first.

I was having the same problem...then I realized I was copying the "share" URL instead of the one below it. As soon as I did that, worked like a charm...

Thanks Glenn! I guess they changed the format slightly.
People who reprogram these things never think about us poor techno-phobes. There should be a manual, and training!

Manual? We don't need no stinking manual!

Ever tried to put a new bike together without the directions?
Now thats hard! :D

Now Larry, we are too...mature... for bicycles. Unless it is a Schrade bicycle!:D
