Detent stiff on paramilitary 2 dlc coated blade?

Is this normal? Compared to my week old satin, the dlc makes my finger sore after a few passes on opening, I've already taken it apart and went crazy with lube on the detent and detent hole and I've tried keeping the stop pin screws slightly looser. Is this happen more on the dlc model? My new satin model is crazy smooth and fast by comparison

Oil isn't going to help you, neither is messing with the stop pins nor disassembly. You need to break it in, which will happen over time. Don't rush it.
 
Well, I own a couple Para2 knives and one was a little stiffer to flick open than the other. I just carried and used it and within a couple months it was fine. Either that or my thumb got stronger. If it bugs you though contact Spyderco. It could be that the detent ball is scraping against the coating (increased friction over the satin blade). While this is only my opinion, based on what you describe, I do not think it is a defect.
 
Well I took it apart and the detent and detent ramp were sticking up to half the wid t h of the knife I bent it down till probably about quarter th e width and it seems on par with my also new satin pm2 now
 
My thumb still hurts from opening it a hundred times or so I'd say it probably took 5lbs or pressure to open before now it would be maybe 1lb
