I am thinking of buying a XM-18 soon and I have heard that with some the blade can be shaken loose. If you tighten down the pivot will this eliminate the problem? Reason I'm asking is Canada customs is sometimes a bit over zealous when it comes to this law. I'd be sick if I had a Hinderer confiscated:barf:

You could tighten the pivot to the point where you couldn't open the blade....at all. Have it reasonably tightened before shipment if you are truly concerned and then you can easily adjust it properly once it arrives.

Perfect...this is exactly what I wanted to hear. Thanks!

Make absolute sure that the seller tightens the pivot enough to stop the blade from opening at all, but is weary of stripping the pivot. I've shipped plenty of times to Canada; the customs boys are a pain. They will remove the knife completely, and if the blade deploys without touching the blade they will confiscate it. You as a buyer have no jurisdiction as to how they get that blade out, but if they do it's as good as gone.
