Determing Grind Angle?

So is the an easy way to determine a blade's grind angle? Some easy test that can be done to check it?

Getting a DMT Magna Guide and would likely like to keep my knives as their default grinds (at least for the time being) and I frankly have no clue how to find this out :p
 
A quick method is the Sharpie. Apply the black marker over the cutting edge on both sides. Use your DMT at an angle that you think is close. Using a fine stone with light pressure follow the mfg. instructions. See if it removes the ink from the whole beveled edge. If it only removes from the cutting surface of the bevel then the angle you set is too large. Drop the guide down, remark the bevel, and try again. Keep a record of your knives and the setting you sharpen each at. Hope this answers your question. Good luck.
