Determining if a knife has been repaired

I am new at collecting pocket knives. I bought a Gutmann Hen & Rooster whittler. The knife was advertised as being in "new" condition. When I closely examine the knife, the edge of one of the bolsters where it fits against the stag is not perfectly even along its edge. Does that happen sometimes during the manufacturing process or is that due to some effort to replace a part or blade? All of the blades look to be correct. Thanks.

Sometimes fit and finish isn't perfect on knives it happens quite often especially in the more "budget" knives. When you start getting to the high end and custom knives fit and finish issues tend to disappear to my knowledge.

I collect modern folders, so I do not know that much about classics. But I would expect budget classic folders to be less consistent with fit and finish.
