Recently in another thread I was less than respectful towards Germany. For which I apologise.
Whilst this in no way was aimed at any one particular person I feel it reflects the ugly Australian and has maybe shed a bad light on me.
The fact that there was humour involved does not excuse small mindedness.
I was under the influence of too much alcohol at the time of posting. No excuse either.
Despite the disclaimer I have thought about the post and decided that what I find hilarious at a particular time may not translate across cyberspace.
Indeed it may have caused offense.
Many of you will know what I mean and I'm sure I'm not alone in the "my brain is on rewind while my fingers type" culpability.
Andi -please accept this apology.
By way of reparation and to ease my burden of guilt I decided to support Germany by purchasing one of their knives albeit from a USA dealer.
German Bull large whittler antique green bone.
Anyway I was waiting for it to arrive before posting this and now I discover that it may have been made In China!! Is there no way out of this?
The more you wriggle the deeper you sink. A picture is worth a thousand words so I'll just shut up.
Here it is with the NSW floral emblem the Waratah (which has just flowered in my garden).

cheers.

Once again without wanting to offend anyone yes he did but an even uglier one won it.

Amen to that.
yes its more massive than I imagined. Beautiful bone too.it may be antique green but its got this ginger hue when the light catches it. very happy.

Well, I didn´t feel offended in any way - so no reason for apologizing. Who is not on influence on alcohol the one or the other day and sometimes even too much - that´s life! Deutsch-Australische Freundschaft - I think we should have a drink or two on this! :D

But - hey - thanks for supporting our economy on buying great looking knives like the one you got there! :)

Cheers Andi-I knew you would understand.I'm sure Billy Connolly can get away with it and it IS funny but I had a feeling of having crossed the line of politeness.
Thank you mods for letting me stray from the path.

That's a nice looking knife regardless of the country of origin. I like the "Coke Bottle" profile of it. It strike me as being pretty substantial as well. Let us know how it holds up over time, I'm interested in this brand, seeing as there is a bit of buzz in regards to the actual country they're made in, but to me a good knife, is just that.

I agree. Some words for this knife are burly, bold, beefy and big .I'll be using it over the next few days and see how the razor sharp edges holds up.
