This one is going to be on the pack of our fine USMC "Devil Dogs". Forged from some of Aldos 1095 "FG", the blade on this one is 12" x 3", 18.5" overall.

Differential heat treat using clay, with a scotchbrite finish/light etch to show the hamon a bit. Still have a bit of clean up/grooving on the handle to do, and my apologies for the overexposed/highly contrasted pics, looks better in person.

Oh yeah the front end is sharp and point too...

That's just scary....but in a good way:D
Nice one Matt:thumbup:

Someone is gonna have fun choppin' stuff up with that. I would sure hate to be on the wrong side in the "Sand-Box" and see that thing coming at me.

Great Job Matt...

Robert

I love it Matt. The guard is particularly interesting and attreactive.

Did you do any sort of penetration testing with that tip? Looks to me like it's plenty pointed to stab, even with the dramatic clip.

I'm guessing that one will have plenty of intimidation factor :)

Eli, i did a little cutting/sticking with it and yes the tip does stap pretty good. Havent done too much testing, just into my archery back stop etc. What I primarily wanted a tip /sharp front end was to help wedge into things to pry open if need be. I figure a tool like this will be used for whatever/whenever, as it should be.

thanks all, matt

Hey, is that not my onion and jalapeno knife? I agree with Eli, that thing is very intimidating.
Nothing less then a safe return, for the Marine taking this blade into harms way, and all of our service men and women.

That's stunning, Matt! Love a knife that looks like it'll kill a wild hog, butcher it into tasty morsels, chop up wood for smoking, and then slice up sheetmetal to make the smoker.

Matt, I admire your work! That is too cool!

Did you have any luck with your recurve yet?
