This is a proto of the new Operator, stretched to a 4" blade and with a thumbramp.
(sorry in advance for the size of the pic, it got huge en route to photopoint)

Not huge after all! The blade is combo mirror satin BTW. I loves this knife!

Mitch, I sold out! It was going to be another 3 months for a lefty. Ambi thumbstuds though

Oh no! I was going to get a similar knife...left handed of course. After playing with some of Andre's higher end stuff at Bladegallery I am convinced that I just need to save up for a while.

Ferret, quit showing off. lol That is nice. Andre is going to finish my Buttonlock Pathfinder when he gets back from Vegas. I wish you hadn't shown me this one.

Ferret,

That is sweet!!!! I'm learning more about custom knives every day and hate to show my ignorance, but until now, I wasn't familar with Andre de Villiers. After viewing your pic, I found his website, some very nice blades. How about a little casual review of his work for us new guys... For example, tell me about the locking system he created.

Ferret,
WELL you got it eigh?? Very nice!! That looks like his BEAUTIFUL Olive wood on the handle??
I'm also in Hawkbill heaven...Just recieved my Wasp from Reese Weiland over the weekend

CCM (any relation to the bikes?), mine's a plain liner lock, I didn't want the button lock or any other doodads on it. The workmanship is awesome on this knife (fit, finish, grinds A-OK) and the whole thing can easily be stripped down with a single screwdriver (I took it apart prior to the photo). Doesn't just fit the hand, it sticks to it, and the balance is perfect. Smooth opening and solid lockup. The only negative is that it was shipped wrapped in newspaper and sellotape, no sheath or pouch provided. Am currently storing it in a sock, kinda lowly surrounds for such a purty knife

Neil, the wood is much nicer than I expected (even the photo shows the wood better than the photos on Andre's site)...hawkbill heaven alright
