Just received one of the prototypes of the next Pirela designed knife: The DeVilliers Ishazi Zulu. Although everyone's definition of "perfect" differs this one hits the nail on the head for me which is good because my wife recently cut me off from any more purchases. The other positive is that there'll be more of these great designs for the rest of you (2002 looks like a big year). To throw more salt in the wound, my 10 month old just wiped his nose all over my shoulder.
The scales on this one are G-10 (which works for me) although I think that the actual run will have carbon fiber which should be beyond spectacular.

Very nice. DeVillers has some great looking designs, I just wish he would use something other than ATS....

That's gorgeous, AnklePocket. I saw that on knifeart on Saturday. Wasn't that a 2001 design?

Maybe you'll come to your senses and keep the Spheron too instead of giving it away :p

There aren't enough to go around. I haven't seen any of his designs yet that I haven't liked. he also chooses great makers to produce them. Unfortunately there aren't enough to go around.

If I haven't come to my senses by now, there's very little hope. You're right, though, I should probably keep'em both as I have one more production knife to unload and then I have a better arguement for doing so. I guess that it's really only meaningless paper with numbers on them. And with all of the terrorists in New Jersey and all...

Joel designs some great knives and gets some of the best makers around to make them. This is another example of the stunning knives that come from Pirella Designs.

Most of the knives that Joel puts out are done in 154CM. Although that isn't a big difference from ATS-34
