Handle: Premium KOA / Black G10

Thanks for looking, comments appreciated

wow. what sort of grind did you put on there? I don't see a plunge, and the back of the edge comes behind the handle. Did you do an angled tip/edge to ricasso/spine flat taper??

awesome work :)

Thanks for the comments! Don you made my day...

daizee - It is a very gradual full flat grind to the spine, then convexed the cutting edge up past the hamon. Should be a nice piece of kitchen cutlery!

Cripes.
And on what did you grind it? :D

Nice cleaver! What is the point of the etching on the blade? Is it for looks?

The "Etching" is a Hamon from a differential Heat Treat. The line is where the steel transitions from hardened steel to softer steel. I like to think that on a blade this size it could serve its purpose to withstand Heavy chopping. on a smaller knife it is purely aesthetic.

Holy cinnamon sh#^ kittens!!
That thing is awesome!
I usually just look at the fine knives from the makers here without commenting but damn man; that thing is nice!
I have a feeling I'm going to regret sending you a PM.

Thank you Ryan!

A beautiful piece of functional art! A custom cleaver like that will infinitely increase the fun of every cut during kitchen knife work.
