Are there any people out there that own any Devin Thomas damascus? in any form. slab, hunk, blade, etc.

I have a Microtech MUDT knife with DT damascus 55/100 produced. Beautiful raindrop stainless damascus. very tight raindrop pattern.

His material must be very rare, if they are only making 100 of a certain knife.

Does anyone have any info on this exotic metal?

Thanks

Hi Recharge,
Devin Thomas is one of the most well known damascus makers out there and one of the best. He forges steel for quite a few makers.

His work is beautiful. I honestly have not seen any of his steel that I was not amazed with.

I would bet that most collectors with 3 or 4 damascus blades that were not forged by the maker of the knife have a Devin Thomas blade on at least one of them.

Devin has also been the main (maybe the only) supplier of damascus to Micro Tech, but the majority of his work can be seen on the knives of hundreds of makers.

When he makes a knife himself they are nothing short of awesome.

Regards,
Gus

Recharge, try reading these threads, particularly the stainless vs carbon steel damascus thread which has a great post from fellow forum member Arthur Washburn (Beowulf), the production manager for Devin Thomas damsacus. Devin's damascus is commonly seen in custom knives by many knifemakers. I imagine Microtech has their own reasons for limiting the production run of 100. Chris Reeve knives is another production company that makes knives with Devin Thomas damascus blades:
