Well after 5 days of putting this new sebbie through it's paces...

It is safe to say that this steel is AMAZING!

It has surpassed the following steels that i've used doing the EXACT same tasks day in and day out: 440c, 154cm, 1095, D2 and s30v.

Tasks included but not limited to as an electrician: stripping thhn wires size 14-500mcm, stripping nm cable jacket, cutting plastic sheath off of ac/mc cable, reaming pvc pipe sizes 1/2"-3", scrapping glue off of pvc pipe, cutting zip ties, cutting tape of all kinds, opening boxes, cutting cardboard, opening letters and the list goes on...

And a few times the damascus made contact with a steel fish tape or the side of a steel 4 square box or panel.

No nicks, no rolling of the edge, barely any degradation of the cutting edge! it still push cuts thin ad paper and popped a few hairs! Not quite shaving sharp but it did pop some hairs!

All the mentions steels above have shown nicks, rolled edges, or noticeable dulling of the edge after 1 or 2 days of use in the same tasks.

All I can say is wow...if you are scared to use your damascus by Devin Thomas...do not be afraid, get out there and use it! It is some spectacular stuff!

Dirty girl!

Thanks for the little review. I have been thinking about getting a Damascus sebenza and that pattern is my favorite

Awesome thanks for the review been looking into getting a damascus sebenza also. Keep me updated if your opinion changes! :)

Hahah, I just posted up a question in the chris reeve section asking this exact question. I wanted a blade that would sharpen up to an extremely fine edge and keep that razor edge longer then S30V which tends to lose it fairly quickly. So far I love CPM-154 for just that reason. I was wondering if the damascus steel on the sebenzas would be any better then s30v. Does anyone know what the hardness is on that steel and what stainless steels they are, exactly?
