I was wondering what does "B & W" in "B & W Ladder Damascus" stand for?

B&W, or Black and White, usually refers the "high-contrast", non-stainless damascus blades that have been produced in the past. IIRC, this option isn't available any longer from CR.
what steel is in that damascus?
According to Devin Thomas' website (who supplies the lion's share of CR Damascus blades), his combinations are the following:
Stainless Damascus - AEB - L and 304
High Contrast Damascus - O1 or 19C5VA and Nickel
Double High Carbon Damascus - O1 or 19C5VA & 15N20 (2% Nickel high carbon steel)
As far as the chemistry of the components he uses, I'd recommend Z's Steel Chart.
