Dewar Question

OK so now I need a Dewar for liquid nitrogen.

The big ones are, like, 20 liters. So I have to fill it? Does the blade have to be 100% submerged?

Or can I half fill it and get as much of the blade in as possible. Will the cold travel? Is the air space cold enough?

Refilling liters of the stuff every 100 days is a little much for a small time maker.

I usually fill my dewar just because it is more trouble to haul it around. You can wrap the outside of your dewar with fibergalss insulation and get a little longer life out of a fill up. According to the folks who serve my tank, the temperature above the liquid is plenty cold, thus I believe the blade does not need to be completly submerged.
Check with some local daires and ask them who fills their AI tanks, sometimes you can get a good deal in that arena.
Good Luck!
