......Sharpmaker demonstration at the Blade Show.

I only took two pictures at the Blade Show. I guess it was because I was so busy looking at and buying knives that I just forgot about the camera. Oh well, I got these two great shots of our own Dexter Ewing sharpening a knife for CPR (Chris Raymond). I thought I would post these pics here incase anyone wanted Dexter to teach them how to use the Spyderco Sharpmaker. He is really good at that. Enjoy the pics

By the way, David, Andrew, Dexter, Chris, and your wives, I had a great time talking with you. Hope to get together again soon

Thanks for the pics Mike. I've always wondered exactly WHAT Dexter was good at!

Michael, Barbara and I had a great time also. Hanging out with all the guys and their spouses was the highlight of the show for me. I brought my new digital camera to the show and didn't take any pictures either. I'm not sure pictures would be able to tell even part of the story. For example, didn't Dexter have his tongue hanging out of the side of his mouth during the sharping demo mumbling to himself something like: "This works when I do it at home. I hope nobody is watching." Apparently Chris was in shock over the whole thing.

Geez, thanks for the pic Michael (ya bastid)!

I have that look on my face because Dexter had just scratched the entire side of my new (to me) Ken Onion Midtech Boa on the 204

BTW, thanks for the sharpening job Dex, even though this thing still can't cut butter. I told you to clean the ceramic rods first

Anyone have any hints on how to get the edge scary sharp? The previous owner must have tried to cut steel with this thing, as the belly of the edge has some bright spots (read DULL). I spent 30 minutes on the 204 last night and still haven't gotten rid of the bright spots. Arrrghhh!!!

Take care,
Chris

Dex is a good ole boy, a knife world shaker, he gonna send us a postcard!

Always think of your fellow knife makers as partners in the search for the perfect blade, not as people trying to compete with you and your work!

Hey Chris, you should sell me that Boa. That thing is pretty rough and I doubt you will be able to get the lock to hold up

I love my Mid Tech that I picked up. I didn't get as good a deal as you so I can't carry mine darn it. Oh well, maybe next time I will find one that is used and won't be worried about carrying it.

That's not really Dexter. Notice how the pictures only show one cheek. Gosh, I hope this doesn't mean that Dex is gone, you know, like, selling all his knives and taking up stamp collecting, kinda' like Paul being barefoot on the cover of the White Album.

Can anyone prove that Dexter was really at the Blade show?!

Chris,

Sell me the Boa, dude. Micheal already has one. LOL. Just kidding Mike.

I won't believe there was a Blade Show until I see the obligatory picture of Dexter with a crowd of guys around him each holding a knife that came out of his vest.

NC,

Nice pics and it was good seeing you there. I took more pics than you but I haven't had time to post them yet. Soon I promise.

Bwahahaha!

I am carrying and using my Mid Tech Boa on a daily basis. Sorry guys, too nice of a knife at too good a price to sell. BTW Michael, did you pick up any more Onions on Sunday?

Another night of fruitless sharpening. I sure wish Spyderco would come out with a coarse stone...

I feel much better now that Dex has posted another ridiculous picture of me (although I think Alan has me beat for goofy face of the year award). Bastids!

Chris
