When I show my Moras to my father-in-law, he always mentions Dexter knives. Apparently, ther've got a wooden handle and a light leather sheath. Carbon blades, about 4" to 5" long. Very comparable to Moras, in terms of price and quality. They cost about $6 a piece. Does anybody know of a source for them?

i think he might be talking about dexter russle knives, they have been making kitchen knives for years.

Maybe he's thinking of the Green River knives, which I think are made by Dexter Russell. They're carbon steel, often sold as blades only. The sheath knife and 5" fish knife look like the Green River knives I've seen. They also make skinners and a Dadley. The ones I've seen were about $10 for the blade only.
