Have you had a chance to handle the prototype at SHOT? I am curious as to any details you may be able to offer?

Actually, no details from me :( Contact Neil for more info.

I was busier than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest at the show and only made it over to the OE booth twice. Both times Neil wasn't there. Sorry!

The Neil Blackwood/Outdoor Edge collaboration is his small hybrid.

I never had a chance to LEAVE the booth!! Outdoor Edge was BUSY AS HECK!!! I may have been taking a power nap under one of the tables;)

Hybrid!! YES!!!! Latest picture in the link that Dennis posted above. Dave promises to have the production Hybrids at the Blade Show in Atlanta. I'll be at the booth as well, stop by and say hello!

From that pic Dennis, it appears that the handle material comes ABOVE the tang after the thumb texturing. Does anyone know if these are "scales" that leave the tang exposed OR if the tang is hidden completely in the handle material??
I guess a shot from above or below would answer that!:D HINT HINT!;)

Jason,

Here's a picture of one I just recieved from Dave. The tang is completely enclosed by the handle material (Kraton). From what I understand, molding through and around the tang was not easy. They realy got it right though, the handle is FLAWLESS! The tang also goes right to the butt and is visible inside the lanyard hole. I'm totally impressed with the Outdoor Edge Hybrid. A lot of planning and discussion went into getting the blade belly just right, they NAILED it on the production model. The handle is very grippy and comfortable. They even got the thumb grip serrations spaced exactly like mine :D I'm looking forward to seeing the sheath. Based on what I saw at the SHOT Show, I feel it will compliment the Hybrid nicely.

Well, these should be out any day now. Any updates? Last I heard they were supposed to be shipping.

I got one today. I am am very impressed that a knife with a suggested retail of $50 could be so good.

I plan on making this my edc fixed blade. :)
