Here's the details...

72 RC Carbide Edge
Ultra Light - 60 Grams or just over 2 ounces
6.8" long
2.9" blade

Thanks for checking it out! Enjoy...

pretty awesome ...love the way the contour of the handle flows into the steel when blade is closed...those are some stunning lines, man!

Much appreciated!

I'm really happy to hear that, I worked on the design for about a year.

I think that is a pretty exciting looking friction folder, Daniel ! The workmanship is awesome. I don't quite follow that 72 Rockwell carbide edge? Will you be using that same carbide edge on all your knives from now on? Frank

72 RC Carbide Edge - I apply Tungsten Carbide to the titanium blade, the harder Tungsten enables the Titanium to keep a decent edge.

On some materials like cardoard the Tungsten wears slower than the Titanium and has a self sharpening effect.

If you feel the edge it almost feels like a very fine saw blade because of the carbide, it provides a very aggressive cutting action.

The edge stability and edge holding is not as good as steel, I like Carbidized Titanium for general utility and steel for harder use. I recently tested a Ti blade on video and it tough stuff! The edge stood up to batoning, twisting and other things I would not normally use a knife for.

For meat, veggies, cloth, cord, rubber, foam, and especially cardboard I really like carbidized Titanium. For bushcraft, carving or chopping steel can't be beat.

I carry my Titanium Backpacker model the most of any of my knives, for the utility type of cutting I do it can't be beat. I don't really have to do anything to maintain it and it will never rust.

I mostly apply carbide to Titanium but EDC a knife in O1 steel that is carbidized, the edge stability is the same as an O1 blade and it is a cardboard machine. I did a video to see how long the edge would last and ran out of cardboard! That reminds me, I should do more.

Here's a video showing the hard use capabilities of Titanium. It doesn't really show what the knife was made for but does show how far Titanium can be taken. I have had lots of questions about the durability and edge stability. I was impressed and had the knife up to super sharp in under thirty seconds after the video.

The Backpacking, Camping, Fishing, Hunting, Boating, Diving, Survival, Back Country, Mountain Climbing, Every Day Carry Knife... but here's more!

Hi,
I am interested in seeing the video you mentioned about cardboard cutting. "I mostly apply carbide to Titanium but EDC a knife in O1 steel that is carbidized, the edge stability is the same as an O1 blade and it is a cardboard machine. I did a video to see how long the edge would last and ran out of cardboard! Could you please post a link to it?

Thanks,
Bill

wow, that knife is stunning. I really like the handles and the blade.

Thanks! I have a lot of fun working with Titanium.

It's on youtube somewhere... it was my first knife and I'm on #500 or so now. I watched it and want to redo it with a thinner edged knife. I probably cut 10 beer cases into slivers but my edge geometry wasn't impressive. I'll show it here on Customs with a new one. :D

I'm going to do a few more videos on carbidized Titanium as I get tons of questions. The more I use the more impressed I am.
