DHL lost 3 Nessmuks...

DHL USA changed a ZIP code from 21030 to 31030 so my package with 3 Nessmuks ended up in Georgia instead of Maryland and it all went south from there. After almost three weeks they finally admited they had no idea where the package was and that they were considering it officially lost.

Of course, my customers are getting replacement knives made with no waiting time. This needs to be clear. If you buy a knife from me and the package gets lost/stolen, I'll make you a new knife on the spot. no ifs or buts and no waiting time to see what the shipper tells me. You get another knife made asap and I'll deal with the shipping company later.

3 new blanks with an extra bead each for the troubles.

Thanks for looking!

I hope DHL finds the package. Your efforts to make things right (even though you are without fault) is awesome. This is just another reason why your waiting list for knives will get longer and longer. :)

One of the lost knives was suppose to be mine.

I just have to say that Ariel was amazing throughout the issues. He was upfront about the problems and never gave any impression other than that he will make things right.

Still really looking forward to getting my first AES knife! :)

Sorry to hear that Ariel. Those are very nice Nessmuks. Hope they turn up some time.

You will not be disappointed. I love mine. :)

So sorry to hear that, Ariel!

And your customer service is real splendid  The way you handle the problem is a real great example to others

Anyhow, what happened to the DHL tracking system? What's the point of having a tracking system if it doesn't really work well in tracing the trail of the shipped item? Isn't the handover process of the package from one point to another point suppose to be properly recorded in the system? It surprise me :jerkit:

Oh, tracking worked fine... We all know where the package got lost/stolen now...

Since they changed the ZIP code from 21030 to 31030 (I've seen the Argentina destination sticker and it was written properly) it ended up in Macon, GA instead of Cockeyville, MD, where I was shipping them to a friend so he could re ship them CONUS.

Ariel that is really weird. I don't know what DHL does but a US Postmaster that gets a package with an incorrect zip code will look up the correct one and send it there.

Incorrect zip codes are the biggest cause of mail being lost or delayed. If there is one thing to get right on a package it is the zip. If it's a small town the Postmaster could deliver it with just a name and a zip code. Go to a big city and it becomes crucial to have an accurate address.

I can't see why they would just bump this package around like that.

Good on you for making it right. And for being patient when my payment disappeared in the mail. :D

Sorry to hear about this.......but your customer service is AWESOME!

I can only assume that DHL will eat the price on these since they changed the Zip?

Well, I got some very good news today!

My associate in the US got a call from DHL some hours ago. It turns out they found the package on the facility for his area, so he told them to hold it and went pick it up in person.

All three knives are there and in the same shape I shipped, so I'm very happy about it.

He'll be shipping the knives to their respective owners asap.

Again I apologize for the delay, and I'll hope you like your new knives :)

I was really happy to get the email from Ariel with this news! :)

Do I still get the new one you are making as well? ;) :D

Glad to hear it is all working out. I am not a fan of DHL. Personally I would never use them.

I couldn't agree more. The Stag Beauty is mine and Ariel has been fantastic throughout the whole process. Always keeping me updated on the status. It's my 2nd one from him and it won't be my last. You get :thumbup: Ariel.

That sucks. I can't stand DHL actually. We use them at work and I've gotten the runaround twice only to find out in the end that they had no idea where the package was. They even told me it had been delivered to us, and claimed to have a signature. But a couple of days later admitted that that was not true.

Post 11 changes nothing. DHL is a horrid shipper. They found our packages after weeks also. I filed a failure of service claim against the shipping charges and here is what they wrote me: (directly quoted, even the misused tense of include)

"In researching the above referenced service delay, it was determined this shipment originated outside of the United States. Because DHL's service guarantee does not included shipments originating outside the United States, we are unable to honor your request for a refund."

Ariel,

I'm glad the package was found. Now get back to work. :D

For a number of reasons, I'm kind of limited on the shipping methods I can use, and even with this and other mess up some years ago (that was resolved in some weeks at that time), I've been shipping knives via DHL for more than 4 years now and they always reached my customers in the expected time.

Anyways, this means I'm gonna have the next Nessmuks in the expected time :D
