Well...I've had it for about three weeks now. It has a few scratches on the aluminum scales. I'm very impressed with the quality of this little knife. It's put together like a Swiss watch. Last night my wife was looking at the Toad and said, "The blade is as sharp as a razor". I laughed at the comment a little, however later in the night I noticed that I had cut my finger with the Toad and I hadn't even noticed. The thing IS sharp.
I'm going to buy a "Mouse" next. Something about these little Spydercos has me facinated. I consider that a good thing.

I argee with you 100% about the Toad's quality craftsmanship. I tend to carry mine almost daily when I'm in my suit. It's all the knife I need for the domestic cutting chores here at the office.
The Toad's ergos are perfect for my hand, and I really like the fact that you don't need to flip the knife over to close it due to it's liner lock.
The knife is very mechanicaland very tight. I enjoy just playing with it.
BTW. I have three of them. One is carried and used. The other two are put away as I am concerned that Spyderco will drop it someday.
Lot's of people have made their opinion of this knife without ever holding it. The popular opinion is it is ugly.
Not to me.
It is one of my favorites.

Hey Bill!
I completely understand about "playing" with the little Spyderco.
It's like one of those slick "worry stones" that you rub in order to work off excess stress. With this election I find myself running my thumb over the slick little Toad all day long. I also agree with your decision to purchase some extra Toads to put back in case they become unavailable some day. I've found a pretty good price on Toads so I'm going to buy some extras too.

Toad lovers, Unite!!

Will,
Neither of us mentioned that the Toad fits perfectly in the watch pocket of blue jeans.
The clip is mounted so high on the scale that the knife almost disappears.
