Hi guy's I acquired this Adventura a few years ago and at the time I just put it in a box with a few other project knives (it only needed cleaning and a few torx screws for the pocket clip, but because of it being a little big for me to carry I nearly forgot all about it until recently.

Tonight I decided to clean it...

It wasn't horribly dirty or anything, I just wanted to give it the spa treatment it deserves before moving it fully into my collection.

Since I'm fairly comfortable taking apart little flippers like the Kershaw Chive and Leek, I didn't really hesitate to disassemble my Dialex...that is until the back pins wouldn't budge... The blade pin and first small pin that's in the front spring came out with only a little force on the screw side of the scales after backing it out a bit, but those back pins do not seem to want to move at all and I don't want to jeopardize bending anything or not getting it back together as well as when I started. I got it clean enough at this point anyway. My plan from here is to add a touch of white lithium grease to the pivot points and put it back together tomorrow.

In the meantime while I wait for it to air dry, I was just wondering...

Has anyone else had any experience with taking these apart? If so did you take the back pins out and how well did it go back together?

Does anyone know if I can still get the small screws for the clip from Spyderco? Surely (hopefully) it has common screws as a model still in production? all the other Spyderco knives I have currently use different screws for the pocket clip, but they are discontinued as well and completely different styles so I didn't find it odd that they were a different size.

thanks for your input.

Hi Amanda, I would give the Spyderco Factory Office a call at 1-800-525-7770. They should be able to send you out the clip screws you need.

Awesome knife by the way.

Thank you, I will do that.

Previous owner let the pocket clip swing from just a single screw so it has rubbed a line into one side and there is some weird tread marks on the side of the blade, but all in all really like this knife.

I've decided I would sleep better tonight with it re-assembled....
