Diamond fingernail file for profiling?

Derek's cool thread on using emory boards to convex and polish has got me wondering, has anyone tried a diamond nail file? More specifically has anyone say tried their wife's diamond impregnated metal fingernail file, if so, did your marriage survive it?

Looking at it, it sort of looks like a long thin version of my DMT sharpening cards, a person could rig up a shield like we do when filing axes and go to town. They're lots cheaper than DMT's offering, they're lightweight, available pretty much everywhere, and could be dropped into a pack without even knowing they were there.

Maybe I'll just buy one and try it, if 29 years has taught me anything, its that my wife considers some things sacred, and I'm guessing her fingernail stuff might just fall into that category... I know from experience appropriating her sewing scissors is something that should be avoided at all costs! :)

Uh yeah I learned about the sewing scissors from my mom I think I may still have marks on my ass!

I've done it the other way -- used my diafold to clean up the ragged edge when I split/tear a nail out in the woods.

yeah, go to CVS and browse through the nail care section. There are some gems.
