The relationship between Nepal (the Khukuri) and the United Kingdom is so close it is worth noting the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Queen Elizabeth II. Celebrating one of the longest reigns in English history makes Queen Elizabeth unique if not strong. Elisabeth II was born on April 21st, 1926.

Highlights from the festivities
Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee has just ended with a Thanksgiving Service at St. Paul’s Cathedral. The UK is great county that has helped Nepal and Nepal has helped it. May that friendship last even through the tough times of today.

Nepal even had a part in the celebration:

Amazingly, the Queen can even make Nepal time speed up:
The wooden floor is covered in a grey-green rug with the Queen's cipher woven in old gold on a fretwork pattern. It has been specially designed and handwoven in Nepal in record time – under two months.

Wow, thanks Berkley I did not know that about the rug. Since I was a Sea Cadet and in the Navy the Dailymail article was especially interesting.
