Here are a few picture of Diamond Keyhole Sub-hilt Bowie that I recently completed. This is only the second diamond keyhole that I have done. The blade is W2 the overall length is 14 inches, the blade length is 9 inches, the handle is red stabilized curly maple and the guard is bronze.

Regards,
Ken

Ken, I'm liking the curly maple handle and bronze guard. Overall a nice combo.

Good work and good combination of materials. Did you make the sheath, too? You might consider more "finger-hugging" curve in the subhilt for your next one.

I'm not trying to argue with Bob but I think its perfect the way it is. If every knifemaker follows the same lines as everybody else and puts the same curves as everybody else ther is nothing to set yourself apart.

Beautiful knife.

I agree with your statement in a general sense, however in the case of the sub-hilt guard I believe many knifemakers follow the same lines and same curves is because it's the way that's most ergonomically correct.

This attractive knife led me to your keyhole WIP. I have always wondered how this was done. Very complex. Very well taught.

Nice job on the lighting to show the hamon. I saw what you did! ;)

Good thread!
