As I venture into this arena i.e. Diamond Paste Stropping I am ready to select my first paste. It appears that CKTG has a good selection to offer. My question is this, would 1.0 Micron be a good general purpose Diamond Paste? Maybe a .5 & 1.0 Micron paste as a one, two punch? My Substrate will be Basswood 2x3x12", which arrives today. Thanks for any replies.

Good question. I had to look at this website to get an idea https://www.gessweincanada.com/category-s/11328.htm it would appear that the 3 micron and 1 micron would compliment the stones I have. I would be finishing off the following grits depending what steel i am sharpening, 1200gr SiC, 8000gr Shapton and 1000gr Diamond Venev. Second thought, I May want to throw in 6 micron also. I am super new at this.

There are (at least) two reasons to use a strop. IMO, the most useful is to create a keen apex. However, stropping can also be used as a bevel polishing technique (there are better ways to do this, eg lapping film).
