My roomate just became a dealer for a company that produces specialty diamond tools and products. This includes Diamond buffing compounds and such items as custom serration wheels for grinders and just about any other tool that you might need made. This includes twist drills, reamers, lathing bits, custom sharpening stones, custom abrasive shapes, hole saws, files, countersinks, and all sorts of other goodies.

My roomie's initial interest in getting this stuff was for his lapidary shop, but I think some of this might have a use in the knifemaking field, especially the buffing compounds and grinding wheels. As far as the diamond buffing compounds go we can beat any one elses prices on it. Diamond compounds are available up to 100,000 grit and come in a solution that soaks into felt or cloth wheels. Much of this stuff is sold to produce optical quality finishes in large mirrors.

IF you have an interest in some of our products, please e-mail us at legendleather@hotmail.com . If you have a drawing of a tool that you would like quoted/made, e-mail a pic with specs to us, and we will get back to you on a price.

Thanks,

YeK

We can get a 6" x 2" custom serrating wheel made for around $600(variables include grit size and serration design). If you ever manage to wear it out, it can be re-plated for about $100.

We can have wheels made for any size grinder. Wheels can be even made to follow the curve of a knife.

Do you have a website? A catalog? If so please post info. Thanks.

I do not have a web site up yet. We are about a month or so away from having one at this point. Alot of this stuff is custom made to order, making a catalog near impossible to make. Certain items like Twist Drills, some diamond wheels and Lathe bits are currently stocked by the manufacturer, but do to price fluctuations of diamonds, a price list is also hard to come by.

For now the best I can do is quote everything, either custom or stocked items. I know it is a pain, and we have whined to our sales rep, but nothing we can do about it.

IF you are looking for something in particular, e-mail the specs to me and I will have a quote for you in 24 hrs.

Also, if you get a quote from somewhere else, I will do my best to beat it.

..

I will get back to you on monday about that. I think I know a source or two. Might be able to get tubing that you could drill out further so there is less waste than solid bar stock.
