Finished this hawk up before I went on my trip but I couldn't get the picture to the putor then. The heads 9" with a cutting edge of 2 3/4". Another hickory haft thats half wrapped with buckskin and turks head knots to finish it off. 19" long. This was hand forged from 7/8" square 1080.

Really a nice Hawk Ray. Looks like you rotated the spike 45 degrees also, or maybe you've been doing that, anyway, looks good. Nice finish on the steel, wood, and leather. You really put a lot of detail into your work. You're gonna be even more famous than you already are soon!

Looooking goood. I am glad you didn't try doing one like that on my press because you would of broken it more than what you did. :p ;) :D

Ray,

As always your work is exemplary. I like the way the contour flows on both, the spike and the head at the eyelet.

Now that's a hawk! Beautiful, Ray. Some things are so ideal they just couldn't be improved. That's one. Wow...

Will, Other than scratching my back with the spike thats as far as I've taken it. I'm sure this style spike would work the best of any I've made so far.
