These knives I just read about in the knew Field & Stream Mag. So I came home and looked a little up and it sounds like it is the real deal. I have read of course the skeptical, but not any with negative first hand experiense. Those few people that have one, or those lucky enough to test them, seem to be continually surprised. What do some of you other knife fans think, and better yet what do some of you people that own one think? Good all around field knife? Or is it another very expensive knife that doesn't live up to the hype?

Vassili (one of the members here) has one and has done some testing, so far FF D-2 is nothing to write home about.
ZDP-189 and Dozier treated D-2 seem to have done better.

Not to say that the technology is obsolete, far from it. It seems to me that it's just a matter of applying the process to better steel than D-2.
A FF CPM-S90V blade would still be very appealing. Whether or not that will ever happen is anyone's guess.

read all the hype when they 1st hit market. convinced my brother to buy the early one which i believe was from ats34.they went to d2 after that.his buddy used it on hogs &said his big bullet carbon eye brand out performed by a big margin.said F.Dick boning knife would outcut the dia. blade.at 430$ i would prefer to use this forum for makers with a proven track record.we have some great makers here at much more reasonable prices.Knife World this month has a positive article on these knives.however the forum has many knownable users that stand only to help us &do'nt profit from their recommendations.
