Hi, guys. I've searched and searched but can't find the micron/grit specs for the sharpmaker diamond rods. Anoyone? I'm trying to determine if I should go with them or a diafold leaned up against my normal rods for reprofiling AND sharpening/honing stuff like s30v and D2. Yeah, I know they're no s90v or ZDP-189, but I just don't enjoy spending more than 15 min. at a time sharpening. I'm assuming a course-fine diafold would be ideal for this task?

A coarse DMT is similar to the spyderco diamond hones, I do believe.

Back in the day, Sal said the diamond rods are 400 grit.

The Dia-Fold/Duo-Fold paddles work great for what they are, but a diamond benchstone will let you thin out the edge quicker because of the extra force you can apply and then your D2 and S30V goodies will sharpen right up on standard Sharpmaker hones with no problem.

Grit on a new DMT coarse is 325-250.As they are used they become more like 500-600 grit.Which is fine grit.DM
