Does anyone know about the quality/price of his knives. I've seen his name mentioned, but very few prices/pictures.

I picked up a folder by him at a knife show last year.Double ground dagger blade,Polished Micarta scales with a pearl inset on both sides, full file work on the back spring into the blade. The locking mechanism is rear. All in all fit and finish are suberb, file work is a nice extra and for the $95 I paid I have no complaints whatso ever. You can pay much more then that for a factory blade.I think the steel is 440C the blade is not marked steel wise and the dealer I got it from was unsure. Mr Atkinson is located in Fla.and his number is 904-638-8524 and has been making knives from the mid seventies.Hope this helps.

Aaron,
I agree with Bob, I feel that Dick (or Mr. Atkinson as he hates to be called) Makes some of, if not the best knives in the 250 and lower range (If he is not the best he is in the top 3 or 4 in that price range.) I have known Dick for a little while from shows we have attended and will state without any reservation that he also stands behind his work. He has a relatively new liner lock design out that is nice. He makes some metal handled top locks that IMHO are the toughest folders out there. His work is most worthy of consideration if you need a nice, well made working knife. Go for it, you will enjoy talking to him he is an honest man with a great sense of humor; please tell him Gus says hello
