I'd REALLY like to blue some fixtures. I was planning on Nitreblueing. That requires temps around 600 degrees.

Not a good plan if I want to blue a damascus blade.

Dicropan from Brownells looks like the ticket.

I was wondering if any of you all have tried Dicropan IM. The highest temps it uses is boiling water.

Maybe I should skip bluing the blade and only blue fittings?

Last time I looked, Jantz Supply carries a low heat bluing salt. I think it will work at 260-270*F. I have never actually used it myself, but several brother makers do use it.
