Did a few mods to my CQC 15

Nice work; looks really good. I like the way that thumbdisk came out.

all you need now is to get it regrinded, I had the same model cqc-15 , sent it to Tom krein for a regrind and it came back so sweet, I ended up selling it to a fellow forum member who when the first time he waved it from his pocket(he was wearing gym shorts) he almost became half the man he used to be if you get what I'm saying, Also you said you polished the washers so I take it you swapped the stock ones out for phospher bronze? If so how you like it ? A member from a different forum is sending me PB washers for all my Emersons, and I'm really curious as to how it's going to effect the performance of my emersons

I don't know if my brain is just inventing things or I genuinely remember seeing somewhere that someone replaced their nylatron washers with PB ones on their Emerson and the difference was negligible. I want to say it was Carter (xiuxiu1313 on Youtube). I'm eager to hear your results though, I highly recommend running them on a strop first to polish them up.

I have what I think is a little trick to make Emerson's smoother, and part of it involves running the nylatron washers on very fine grit sandpaper. It seemed to help, although I need to take a more experimental approach next time to see if it is polishing the washers that helps, or just polishing the contact areas. Nevertheless, my Gentleman Jim got even smoother after doing that, and the detent ball doesn't squeak any more.

I polished the liners where the washers touch them. Its as smooth as I can be. No really, if it was smoother I wouldnt be able to tell the difference lol. Its smoother than my umnumzaan. Not the same feel or tolerances yada yad yada but it is smoother.

I kept the nylatron washers and polished them with 3000 grit wet abrasive paper. I also used nano oil and she is butter smooth now.
