I've heard some talk of the SERE 2000 having a new style of thumbstuds. Is this true? The only thing I didn't realy like about the SERE was the thumb studs. If they have changed them I guess I'll be getting a new S2K. :D

I got mine a week ago from DiscountKnives and I can say the thumb stud is anything but sharp. It's really smooth and comfortable and is nicer than any thumb stud I've tried so far (in my limited experience). It sticks out quite far but has never caught on my pocket. It's easy to push with your right thumb, but less so with the left thumb because there's no cutout in the G-10 for it. I have the version with the satin silver blade, not the black blade.

I have a very recent model S2K (black blade, black clip). The thumbstuds I believe are the same as the original model, but are polished smooth. No probs at all with comfort. I know this was an issue with the earlier production runs.
