the big ass over built leather sheath that a fella was carrying around. It had a finky blade in it that looked like the bastard child of a bowie and a chainsaw? Come one guys, you know the one with the pouch for the lenstatic compass. The guy made it himself. Someone had to have taken a pic of it. I wanted to show it to a buddy of mine.

Ohhh yeah, I remember that sheath. Bloody wild. Fairly charasmatic guy too, even if he didn't "wanna see my sheath on no Byoosee Combat knife." I'll second the request for pics, I really wanna see that beast again. :)

I do remember that we couldn't even get Andrew Lynch to attempt anything like it. :D

Did he really say he wouldn't want to see one on a Busse? Well that is his loss I suppose, becuase if these guys saw one, he would have to quit his regular job just to keep up with the orders. I think we told him as much too.

He said something along the lines that he turned down requests to make sheaths for Busses fairly often, and mostly came by our booth at Blade to see what all the fuss was about.

I think when he said that about not wanting to see his sheaths on Busses, though, he was mostly talking about one of us seeing the sheath and stealing the design. Ah well. :)

Zal, now that you put it that way, I do recall him saying that. I do think he meant that he hoped that he didn't see any copies of it running around.

the guy made the sheath AND the knife, thats why he wasn't interested in anybody elses knives.
he told me it took the lives of two and a half moo cows to make the scabbard.
it would have been much more practical to just put the knife in a backpack:D

Yep, that is the guy and the gear. Hell, that's even the same T-shirt he was wearing when we saw him. Those sheaths are definitely extreme gear. His blades are massive, they don't do anything for me, but his leather work is cool. I'll have to book mark that page so I can show my buddy.

Thanks for bringing this up Progunner, I was just thinking about that sheath:cool:

This guys sheath work is friggin stout!

Hmmmm, if I remember correctly wasn't that sheath about the right size for an Outlaw?;)

I'd seen some of his ads in some ragazines.

That was a sweet hunk o'bovine hide. Lotsa nooks and crannies for stuff.

 I can't imagine how much time those suckers took....and I'm a guy who spends many hours on some sheaths.

The knives, while obviously very well made, were far from my type, but the sheaths were very cool.
