Remember afew months ago there was a thread on the United cutlery HR knock off.
I thought Jerry lawyers took care of it because it was off their site for awhile.
Its back up, and pushed to the back pages.

hey guys,
can someone explain to me how these fakes/copies are handled in the united states?
how about copy rights and so on?

thanks
Arne

Unfortunately it seems that blade shapes are generally not patentable, though some aspects can be trademarked. The Spyderco round hole is a well known example. With Busse the integral guard with round hole is called a talon hole, and is a Busse trademark. From my understanding these must be actively defended, or there is a possibility of losing the trademark.
