As the title says, did BM make this model without the Elishewitz logo/label on the blade? I bought this knife recently and it looks different than other pics I have seen on the net. I hope I didn't get a fake. Any responses would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes they did make some without the logo. If that is all that you're finding different it's probably not a fake.

Whew! Thanks everyone. I have read alot about the Ares series, and when one came up for sale in the classified, I jumped at it. After I got it, I started doing research on the computer and found all the pictures I saw had the Elishewitz logo on the blade and I was getting nervous. Any reason why they made some with and some without the logo? (early model, production run, etc??) Thanks.

I think I heard the reason some were made without the logo was they discontinued their working relationship with Mr. Elishewitz, but continued to make them for a short time.

You're correct. Same thing happened when the relationship between BM and Neil Blackwood ended, but Skirmish and Rukus' remained in production.

Does the non logo model make it more or less valuable? Rare? I am planning on it be a user, but nice to know the history of the knife. Thanks

To some people the non logo knives are less desirable. But I'd say the majority of people care more about the knife than the logo.

I have a 735SBT in my collection which has Mel Pardue's logo on the blade instead of Allen Elishewitz'. That one is pretty rare ;)
