Did Buck ever make a production half stockman?

My thread title pretty much sums up my question.

Has Buck ever offered a half stockman, like the 301 forum knife, as a production model?

In either a 303,301,703,701 type of frame?

If they did, is there a model number to differentiate it?

I’m guessing no, since I don’t recall ever seeing one. I’d imagine one of our talented modders could craft one easy enough though. I think the 301 forum knife is just about one of the best models Buck has turned out. I do like the CPM-154 steel.

The fixed blade SFO’s our boutique shops are putting out are darn nice, but I use a pocket knife way more frequently than a fixed blade. I rarely need a fixed blade any more. Even when I was younger, a pocket clipped knife was carried along rather than a fixed blade. About the only time I bring along a fixed blade is for deer season. And mostly cause I find a fixed blade much easier to clean up as compared to a folder. But that’s me. Lol.

Thanks!

In the 300 series the only two blade models I’ve seen was the 309 companion and the 375 and both are smaller than the 301. Except for the 2018 forum knife you mentioned that’s all I’m aware of. Maybe some of the experts will chime in with more information.

There were the 305, 309, 705, and the 709. None are currently in production. The 305 is very small, 2 5/5 inches closed, with a clip main blade and sheepsfoot secondary. The 309 is larger, with I believe the same blade pattern. I don't have one so am unsure whether it is the size of the 303 or the 301. From what I have seen on Ebay, I believe the 705 and 709 are the same size and blade patterns as their 300 counterparts. and then there is the Chinese made 375 that Lesknife mentioned.

O.B.

Helpful info as always. I’ve looked at those before, something I should have mentioned, and each of those is at 3” closed or smaller. Too small framed for a daily carry. More like a dress/church type size. And I’m sure it’s just me, but I’ve trouble buying a Chinese made Buck. Doesn’t seem right. I do have other brand offshore made knives of decent quality, and some that are not, but for me a Buck needs to be made here. Lol.

I use a 303 brass and rosewood, it’s a regular 3 blade at 3 1/4 inch closed. It’s a bit smaller but still useful. At first I wasn’t sure if it would be enough but it has served me well. Sometimes I carry my 301 when I think I might need the extra size but it is more notable in my pocket even my 2 blade 301 forum knife is but the 303 cadet I hardly know it’s there.

Yes, I’ll carry the 303, as well as a 703, on occasion. They handle most tasks for me just fine. I prefer the older 303’s as the current editions I find have too light of backsprings and I like the older flat ground blades. Even though the 703 isn’t flat ground which I’d like, it is a tad heftier than a 303 when my hands are bothering me.

I do carry the forum 301 as well. And a couple customs. I can’t commit to just one knife. It was hard enough getting down to basically three or four that I rotate through. Lol. Even so, I still find myself once in awhile digging into a storage box looking for a knife.

I was curious about the limited runs and SFO’s that Buck runs off. Are they out of the custom shop, or the regular line, but built with the different upgraded parts? I noticed the forum 301 came in just a regular yellow Buck box and had a model number sticker on it.

A plain box is what we asked for, so I'm pretty sure they just took some off the floor. However, I'm told the knives themselves were made by the Custom shop.
