I was just wondering if BUCK made a single
blade trapper?
it seems i had one awhile back, but may have been 2 blades.
Thanks in advance,
JD-Jeff

JD, good question, maybe they made a few custom ones... But I'm not really sure... 300Bucks will be here soon to tell u more... I hope... Or someone else will give you more info... ITE

No factory production, as ITE states maybe old custom shop. That said here is the only one I have ever seen that might qualify in a broad sense.....Its just a 321 with the gut hook removed. You could do the same with the 313, or 312 or 314 by removing the skinning blade, or clip as your desire may be. Usually not a home workbench project as the pins are tricky. Or perhaps you were asking about the single blade Buck slipjoint made overseas......The models mentioned above have two blades. My third thought you may have seen a slim single blade lockback model with droppoint blade. No true trapper was cataloged as a single blade.......300Bucks

I include one of the recent single bladed stockman done as an experiment and sold by the Buck factory store.
Just so you have it as visual reference. It will come out in the new 2011 catalog as the model 302.

Nothing from the factory, I have seen 2 312's with one blade removed and with non-factory handles on Ebay, but they were after-market's made by somebody.

I found a 2 blade black.
a board member saw it just about the same exact time i found
on the bay.
weird,i got an email just as i found it on there.
i knew i had a black trapper, but had not seen anyone
with any in there post so thought it was just a dream.lol.

next question would be i guess.
did buck make a 2 blade trapper in black?
one that looks similar in style as the case trappers?
thanks,
jd

Buck made the 312 small trapper and the 314 large trapper with Black Delrin saw cut scale.

i see those above, but i found one like i had on the bay.
right after i posted above i decided to see if i could.
yeah,i knew i had one earlier but could not remember if
it was a 1,or 2 blade.
then someone pointed me to one like the 2 blade above312.
i noticed it was a little beefier at the rear than the one
i remembered having.
so i done a little more researching an found a 311. now that is like
the one i remembered having.
anyone have a 311?
i am keeping my eye on one,but probably gonna go for more
than i can afford.:(

here is a 311 i think is like the one i had.
mine was pretty well used, but i thought i could
find another pretty easy so i got rid of it.
no such luck,i had trouble finding and when i did
i could not afford..i wish i had kept the one i
had.

OK, we have narrowed it down to the end.

First off they are NOT that uncommon although they are not made anymore.

Remember: Those that look new (like the one in your example) and have a correct Buck box and papers will sell high. Those that are scratched, sharpened a little, dirty, no box will sell for less. You can get one of those and with a little elbow grease make a nice everyday carry knife. These are long slim blades, not for prying gaskets or hose clamps
(your racing avatar name). They come in two versions, they look the same except the base of the main blade is stamped different. The one in your example is the newer version, the older ones say BUCK, Made In U.S.A. with the model number 311 stamped on the other side. If you check out sales, pawns and online you will find a decent carry knife for $35. Good Luck
