I never seen any pics of a G10 handle like this except on this knife.

That's very cool, kind of like a first generation coyote G-10 or something. I don't recall ever seeing any other scales looking like that.

I always liked that handle on that knife. I guess it might have been a prototype.

I wonder if the custom shop can make them.

Yes, that is the prototype Fusion handle, I've got to handle one just like it on the original MOAB. I do kind of like it more than the current one, the patterns that come out of the cuts are simply wonderful huh?

Was it the same color pattern too?

thats the basic black and tan g10, as seen on some of the TTKZ's:

The difference between the handle shown on the FSH above is the thickness of the color layers. The newer slabs have much thinner layers, so the striping is more lined than patchy. Different batches of g10 will yield different thicknesses of color layers, as well as missing colors, as seen in the sandstorm g10 here where in the newer slabs the grey is missing, leaving only off white, tan and black. I kind of prefer the older style as it gives it a more mellow overall tone and pattern, just like the thicker banding on the original FSH shown above makes the pattern look less busy then the thin striping of the TTKZ.

Black and Tan actually look more like Black & white because the tan was so light.

The KZ TT in LVC's post is actually called Coyote & black G-10, just so you do not get the wrong thing if you order black & tan.

Just making sure the nomenclature is right, the proto & the TT KZ were coyote & black.

Those were the proto Fusion handles, I got to see them all at Blade west one year, alot more round then what actually came out.

Hope this helps

Good to know, I didn't think there was a difference between coyote and tan, but it makes sense. There are several newer variations in the g10 line that I have yet to learn the names of. Blade West 2003 was a good year

I need to start updating my list of terms, and add a section on handle colors...
